About Us
The Skating Club of Phoenix has been active in the valley for over 50 years. The club is a member of United States Figure Skating and membership in the club, among other great benefits, allows skaters to participate in competitions and test sessions. The Skating Club of Phoenix provides many other activities for both members and Desert Schools Learn To Skate participants. The Desert Schools Coyote Center in Peoria is the home rink for the Skating Club of Phoenix. DSCC Peoria (Polar Ice) provides support for club activities, competitions, and shows including use of facilities, donations, incentives for SCP members, and coordination with skaters in the Learn to Skate program. A strong three way partnership and cooperation between Polar Ice, the Skating Club of Phoenix and teaching professionals helps to maintain our success. SCP skaters also train at Oceanside Arena in Tempe, Arcadia Ice in Phoenix, and DSCC in Chandler. A skater's club affiliation does not dictate where the skater skates. Call each rink to get information on cost and schedules. The most exciting event that the Skating Club of Phoenix sponsors is Fiesta Skate, which is the largest figure skating competition in Arizona. Fiesta Skate is held in April and attracts skaters and judges from across the country. There are events for all levels, Basic Skills to Senior. The skating club is one of the largest clubs on the west coast, has over 250 members and is open to everyone. The club sponsors various competitions, events, dress sales, etc. and also meets regularly for fun filled get togethers.
