Freeskate
National Showcase 2008 - August 2008
The Skating Club of Phoenix
was well represented by Katherine Nichols at the
2008 USFS National Showcase in Rochester, MN, August 7 - 9th.
Katherine took First Place in Young Adult Dramatic, First Place
in Young Adult Extemporaneous (earning her two national titles),
and Second Place in Young Adult Light Entertainment. Katherine
and Alexandra Fardelos (Coyotes FSC) were honored to perform
their comedy duet, "Tango", during the opening ceremonies.
Allie placed Fifth in her Pre Juvenile Light group. They are
both coached by Tommy Allen and Linda Stabler. This competition
showcased qualifying artistic skaters from 65 skating clubs -
ranging from Sweden to Hawaii!

Lilly won The William O. Smythe Award. It was awarded
to the skater judged as having performed the most
artistic program during the Artistic Events, regardless
of level. Becky won this award during Skate La Grande'
in San Diego on March 31st, 2007 for her Lasagna program
in Juvenile.
